Brad Pitt has spent decades demonstrating that menswear does not need to remain predictable. The Oscar winning actor can look completely comfortable in a traditional tuxedo, but some of his most memorable appearances have come when he abandons the usual red carpet formula. Relaxed tailoring, monochrome outfits, unusual accessories and playful fabrics have gradually become part of his wardrobe. His style has evolved alongside a career that continues to take him from major film festivals to blockbuster premieres. Through it all, Pitt has maintained an approach that combines classic Hollywood polish with an increasingly relaxed sense of experimentation.

For years, Pitt frequently appeared on red carpets alongside Angelina Jolie. One of their later appearances as a couple came at AFI Fest in 2015 for By the Sea, the romantic drama in which they starred together. Their coordinated approach reflected a period when the pair regularly brought understated glamour to major Hollywood events.

By 2019, Pitt was balancing two major films and returning to classic formalwear. At the Venice Film Festival premiere of Ad Astra, he chose a traditional tuxedo and bow tie. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood also took him to Cannes, where sharp eveningwear suited the festival setting. During the film’s promotional tour in Mexico, however, he switched to a relaxed beige ensemble and coordinating hat, showing a more casual side of his wardrobe.

The film carried Pitt into the 2020 awards season, when his performance as stuntman Cliff Booth earned him both a Golden Globe and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Formal black tailoring dominated many of those appearances, reinforcing how naturally Pitt can return to traditional menswear when an occasion demands it.

His Bullet Train promotional tour in 2022 marked a more playful chapter. Pitt embraced loose silhouettes and unconventional styling, helping turn the tour into a fashion story of its own. At the 2024 Venice Film Festival, he returned to darker tailoring for Wolfs, appearing alongside longtime friend and costar George Clooney in complementary black ensembles.

F1 brought another transformation in 2025. For the New York premiere, Pitt paired a closely cropped haircut and gray beard with relaxed tailoring and an open collar. In London, he appeared alongside Ines de Ramon wearing a green double breasted Anderson & Sheppard suit with a coordinating scarf, while de Ramon chose a shimmering Fendi look.

By 2026, Pitt was continuing to experiment while promoting Heart of the Beast. A camouflage inspired Greg Lauren ensemble introduced an element of method dressing, while a later festival appearance returned him to a more traditional three piece suit with subtle patterning.

Pitt’s red carpet evolution works because it does not depend on one uniform. He can move from a tuxedo to relaxed tailoring or camouflage without losing his identity, making experimentation rather than any single look the lasting signature of his style.
